Not exactly a vacation, I moved to Southern Cali recently with my gf. This place is about a 1 hour drive away from my home.

incredible plants... amazing how they capture the light with the "fur".

yeah, they really glow if the angles are right

although that sort of "fur" would be a painful wake up call if one tried to hug one of these "teddy bear" chollas, they don't call them "jumping cholla" for nothing

right... never trust what you see.

I remember seeing them in 2006... I was in Arizona, on the 66 near Oatman. All of a sudden they "appear" on those hills around the road, like a strange population, with that aura, that light all around them... almost a mistique vision.
