I love Venom. Really. I like what I see when I see people drawing him and I like his character. But, lately, I'm just feeling like they could do something to revive him.I wasn't really a big fan of Venom breaking off from Eddie, and I'm not a big fan of what's going on with him now in Thunderbolts.
I think Venom works best when he's creepy, and out to fulfill his personal vendetta against Spider-Man. I think to make him more creepy and threatening, his body should be toned down to something more akin to a very fit, very big athlete. Something that looks human, but isn't, to me, is very unsettling. I like giving him a more, 'alien' like head.
I think that when he's way too big, and round, that he comes off a bit too cartoonish. I think Venom would make for the perfect sociopath, and making him intelligent would be a great addition to his character.
Anyway, I was just toolin' around and just wanted to how I would like to handle the character.

I think the best rendition of Venom was in the 90's Spidey cartoon. Hank Azaria was the perfect voice, and they got his size exactly how he needs to be. Nice drawing btw.

Yeah, that was okay. I just didn't like two things they did. They gave him that huge bulbous head, and they always had one side lit light blue, and the other red. It always kept messin' with me.
I didn't know Hank Azaria did the voice for him. I always thought that the Peter Parker/ Spider-Man voice was spot on.

Yea, he WAS spiderman. His joked were funny, and he matched the right age of peter.

I hated what they did to him in the movie... it was like they'd never read the comics! The problem with Venom is that they have this great, dark villain, but every now and then it's lkike they say "hang on, bring it back down for the kids"...

And as for the movie, Venom wasn't really that known to Raimi. He wasn't even going to use him until producers told him how popular he is.
I think that he did a great think by listening to fans, but I think he did a bad thing by not giving Venom the screen time he deserved.
I think they should've taken their time with Venom, and built up the dark Peter. Have him defeat his enemies, but, at a very high price. So then we come into the fourth movie, with all the time in the world to really develop Venom. It seemed they rushed it a bit.
In the movie, it almost seemed like an epilouge. I don't know. I'll have to watch it again when it comes out.

Hmm, yeah, I would have rather had this movie build on dark Peter with Venom as a prom ise for the next movie like Phoenix was in X-2... and I didn't like dark Peter being Emo Peter, with the whole Jim Carey-esq dance routine... if you sdaw a guy dancing like that, you'd be all like "doesn't that fellow move like Spider-Man? Wait a minute..!"

You are totally right. And it was wierd when Emo/Dark Peter was hustlin' down the street and all the girls were kinda intrigued by him, it was like the symbiote was pumping out some serious pheremones.
I thought it was funny, but, didn't exactly fit. I dunno. The movie as a whole felt a bit flat to me.

Too much promise, not enough delivery... it really wasn't in the same league as Batman Begins, Hellboy, and the other Spidey movies...

Wicked venom man, and I totally agree. Venom Vs spidey was the best. When it went off brock, he lost his menace and personality. Although, the thunderbolts venom is cool, it aint the same because he is controlled. WTF is up with that?

I don't know. I heard a rumor that Eddie will get the symbiote back. I hope that true. Or at least someone who will make Venom a bit more threatening.
I also have a theory about the symbiote. The spider powers were just because the symbiote was attached to Peter Parker. So really we don't know what kind of powers it has. The spider powers weren't natural. Maybe the symbiote will attach to someone who can fully utilize all the things it has to offer.
And as a side note, the machine that created the symbiote was really created by the Beyonder, so I think it would be kinda neat to have the Beyonder involved somehow with Venom.

the new venom should at least have the scorpion tail, and this venom is awesome, fantastic expression in the eyes.
