Actually, on the day this and other mist stock like it was shot there was a heavy mist in the distance and a lighter mist in the foreground. For this stock shot I purposely included the trees in the foreground which were approximately a tenth of a mile from the sun shining through the heavy mist to give the illusion that something was happening in the distance. But, it you look closely at the foreground trees you can see that a fine mist is veiling their clarity.
