Why the hell did they have to make up that scene and put it in the anime?! It's not even in the manga (thank god, 'cause that means there's hope) so why???

because it never specififed that he had actually died i REALLY thought he was gonna make a big comeback but has not done so yet ;-;

I really don't think he's dead though! There will have to be a comeback! Hide was the most important person to Kaneki, he can't remain forgotten like this

i hav to agree with you, we now the anime took a tdifferent path from the manga so maybe he dies in the anime but i cant quite recall if kaneki actually removed the blanket to reveal whether or not it was Hide under it. Also in the anime Hide see's/runs into Toro? (The Ghoul that 'kills' Amon and Takizawa) whihc didnt happen in the manga so there are many diferences, i hope he makes his way back into the anime but i have far more hope of a return in the manga

I saw Hide's death scene on Youtube though. I don't think Kaneki removed the blanket but it could have only been Hide, right? I mean, if he was just a random dude why would he carry him all that way and leave himself in plain sight for the CCG?

thats fine, it was actually the first manga that i complted (Only because BTOOOM!! is stll ongoing xD) and i really njoyed it, i read the series before the second season came out and found that i prefer to watch the anime befroe reading the manga as it helps me put a voice and personality to the character
i would still give it a wath at is it still very good and ther are some pleasent scenes, although its different the outcome is ultimately the saem, the anime prvides detail that the manga missed, to get a good ida f the whole thing id say you need to watch/read both as they link in tother even though they are differetn if it makes sense xD
i think i have to agree, it has to be hide but so many parts of me want to say he is still alive! ;-; xD

Just visited your profile and saw this!!! Yes, definitely not in the manga but still, this scene will make you cry and remember their childhood memories. that this is so unfair! Poor kaneki, he did nothing wrong than having crush on rize and boom' the twisted tragedy happen. being caught in between, just wanting to survive and be strong to protect who's dear to him...

It IS so unfair! Hide was, like, the one thing that was keeping Kaneki human deep down. Losing him was like having no place to return to (since Anteiku was destroyed as well) Throughout the whole time they knew each other, Hide was always trying to do the best for Kaneki, cheer him up, support him etc. The perfect friend basically

I think he's missing (not dead) because I strongly doubt that Kaneki ate him. I know he was out of his mind at the time (he even told Hide to leave because he didn't want to hurt him) but was it even possible to eat a whole human and leave no traces? I'm talking about clothes, shoes etc. Furthermore, Kaneki said that when he woke up Hide was gone and there was the taste of blood in his mouth; what about his hand, clothes etc? No blood

Sadness, I agree TT^TT What happened was so unfair (if he is in fact dead :/)! Hide only ever cared for his friend and wanted to find him. Kaneki only wanted to protect him
