Ok maybe I don't blame her, because her hanahaki scenario had absolutely nothing to do with She-ra. She just shared a Harry Potter fic idea with me and I was like "hell yeah I love hanahaki !"
And then it hit me that Catra is obviously Adora's ex girlfriend, and even more obviously still loves her. So I looked briefly through the hanahaki tag on various websites... AND THERE WAS NOTHING.
So I had to do it. I mean, I love the imagery of hanahaki, I'm a sucker for romantic melodrama, and I just like seeing characters almost die due to unrequited love making flowers grow in their lungs y'know ? Totally normal things to like.
Also if someone wants to know how I think this scenario would play out : Catra is afflicted by hanahaki, and at first Adora feels SUPER bad because she absolutely knows why she has it. But she can't just go back to her because well... Catra kinda tried to destroy the world, and is still with the Horde, so Adora isn't willing to forgive her at first. Catra slowly realizes she has to move on, and decides to have the flowers surgically removed.
Downer ending, I know, but it's the only way I can see this ending without Catra dying. As she is now, she can't be forgiven for what she's done.
If any of you can find a way to make it a happy ending, I'd love to hear it !
(also Vivi sorry for tagging you but I wanted you to know that this is just a warmup because I haven't done hanahaki in a long time. You know who I'm gonna draw next.)

Holy shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit it's prettyyyyyyyyy! So colourful, the contrasts in colour are amazing! And the scenario you have is quite clever - it's true, when someone moves on, hanahaki should simply leave their body, right? The flowers would stop growing. So the easiest way to deal with hanahaki is to have your feelings returned or... just move on.
