Here's a quick one I did for the "Draw a Goomba" week at . Don't worry, those of you who are waiting for commissions, I'm still working on them. I'm about halfway done with the one I'm working on at the moment, which happens to be the largest and most detailed, so it should be up by next week (I'd like to say it will be up this weekend, but realistically I'll say next week). So, I'm still working on your requests, this just sounded like fun, and I still get mad when I remember all the other art collections Game Art HQ has held that I've signed on for and then never produced any art for, usually because I keep forgetting like a dumb assΒ (I still want to get that Ninja Gaiden screen shot recreation done some time), so this was a quick, fun, and easy entry to do. Honestly, this picture took less than 2 hours to do, drawing, scanning, editing and coloring all included. It's certainly not the most interesting Goomba submitted so far, as some are awesomely wacky ideas, but I figured I'd just do a caricature style Goomba. I always like drawing them looking old and grumpy. I'd be grumpy too if fat Italians were always stomping on me and my buddies.Related content

This shrivelled ugly mushroom mug would have no problem making offers nobody could refuseβ¦ Just stick a red rose in him and heβs good to go.

They always seemed so impossibly cute (for bad guys) in the games, but you give us the real deal in this picture; ridiculously bushy eyebrows, massively pouty lips and leery green eyes thatβd make any brave plumber squirm.

Adding the great nostalgia in the background, this makes for a fine drawing. Itβs too bad heβs only a lowly minion, otherwise heβd run things better than Bowser ever couldβ¦ Godgoomba perhaps?

I guess we'll need to go back to the earliest instance to understand the struggle. Actually, SMB1 starts off with Mario stomping a goomba before he's even gotten any item. Yeah, Mario and Luigi started it. They're dicks.

btw. you will super love our next big tribute, no matter if you participate or not, but "Mario's Blacklist" will become a thing and you know what that means!

As for Mario's Blacklist, I can't wait. I love seeing people's interpretations of Mario enemies. I know I say I will draw for many of the contests and collections for your group and eventually forget to ever do so, but I believe I will definitely draw something for that. I'm already getting ideas.

If it gets even half as cool and awesome looking as Link's Blacklist now we will see some epic takes on the Koopalings etc. often hopefully in battle with the plumber god. From SMB1 up to SMW3D that are probably some hundred characters in different designs all in all ..it will be crazy but awesome if it comes together
Somehow even the giant Mortal Kombat Tribute is almost done now. There were all in all around 310!!! different character designs to draw including super unpopular ones like Kabal in an alternate costume from MK Deception. If that one got together, all the Goomba's, Koopalings and Bowser in his differnt incarnations will be drawn as well for sure. This project won't start before June though. Just announced the 4th round of Link's Blacklist and don't want to maintain multiple big projects at the same time ^^

I hear you on not wanting multiple projects running at once, that's a mistake I usually make for personal work and one always gets more attention than the others. This past year has been very busy for me with work, saving forΒ and looking for a car, commissions, an art show and an expensive trip, but hopefully now that I'm nearing the end of my commission stack I can get back into casual drawing and contributing to events such as yours. I always love the ideas for collections you come up with, it's just that I'm usually too busy to get them done. I would have loved to do some MK art as that game's a huge part of my life and I currently have no artwork to show for it, but I've been too busy. June is a great time for me since I'll be done with commissions by then, and a great time for a Mario collection being that Mario Kart 8 is coming out at the very end of May, which has loads of Mario villains in it such as Bowser, Wario, and all seven Koopalings. I can't wait to see this art project take off.

The site is looking really good now. The tributes are really easy to access and the physical design of the site looks great. Keep up the great work. If that MK tribute opens up again in the future, I will try to do something for it.
