Description
Lore:
The aloof Wood Dwarves are a race of half-fey, similar to the the Wood Elves. And like the Wood Elves, their ancestry can also be traced back to the Fey Primus, Qrumeilla.
Wood Dwarves live in seclusion in the Feynest; the gargantuan enchanted forest just south of the nation of Sword Court. They make their homes among the underground roots of the ancient trees, forming burrow-villages and delving deep underground to mine metals and harvest plants that grow in the deepest places. They are expert builders, smiths, lumberjacks and tailors, and only leave their burrows to collect the materials they need to carry out their work.
The mischievous and wild nature of the fey tends not to produce craftsmen, and many fey rely on the industriousness of the Wood dwarves for their metalwork and buildings. Acquiring their services is not easy, as Wood Dwarves are as slow to trust outsiders, and go far out of their way to keep their homes hidden. To common folk, the Wood Dwarves' anti-social culture makes them very difficult to find, and nearly impossible to employ. The fey, however, have formed a symbiotic relationship with them; they trade with them freely and have grown accustom to their their gruff and unfriendly demeanor. To the fey, the Wood Dwarves are necessary and welcome members of the Feynest.
