Description A village nested in the mountains. It reminds me sometimes of an adventure tale's early pages. Yet it doesn't seem to be the place I left so much as the one I have been looking for all my life. Homebound...

Have you checked my tutorial from the photograph Catwalk? Homebound was done with the same technique, but it's a panorama of 9 shots (3 columns, 3 rows) with different exposures for sky and ground...

Cheers !

You certainly were and now I'll answer them in reverse order just to bully the art historians who will read this after one of us has gotten really famous and try to understand something meaningful for their publications!

What do you mean one of us, you won't help me to be even moderately famous after you reach the top?

Oh, bummer, all this whining and nothing about the picture
I guess you are blessed in more ways than I had suspected Charlie. This is a wonderful place, definitely a place I was looking for in my whole life and you have done it great justice with your photo. You succeeded not only in capturing the beauty of the place but that nostalgic mood as well!

Thank you!

I have another photograph of that city I've been working for weeks now, and I'm never satisfied because I want to give it a "heroic fantasy" twist but these are harder to get than you'd expect. So I think I'll work on a whole different path for a while and come back to it later. What more can I say? Just like you recently... Expect the unexpected!

awww, no fair, not fair at all. Suposedly this was submitted yesterday in the afternoon but never showed up in my watchbox until this morning and it was already overloaded with comments and favs.
How am I ever gonna be the first to comment on your pictures if DA keeps sabotaging me?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BriceChallamel In reply to justeline [2009-05-25 00:03:13 +0000 UTC]

Well... Here are ten propositions:
1. I warn you in advance with a note of the next deviation, its theme, insider information... The whole package!
2. You get psychic on me and start reading things in the water, the sky, the flames, the... No. Not there... Anyways. You just KNOW!
3. Bribe someone at DA, as we all do to get our DDs (damn! When I think of all the whiners who try it with talent... fools...)
4. Attach *KirlianCamera in front of the computer and play exotic games with him where he wins something if he warns you of a new deviation from me!
5. Who ever said it was going to be easy? But then again, I can't even TRY to be the first to comment yours because you have sooooo many watchers! And in DA too...
6. Feeding me excuses again? Now, a school teacher should know better. Next time you'll tell me your dog turned the computer off! Give me the ruler and show me your hands!
7. Just keep trying. The world belongs to those who never quit! If ever you succeed, I will write a journal again (look when I did the last one and you'll see how much I love to do it...) entirely dedicated to you and your work!
8. There is a gravitational microscopic black hole in which my deviations go before they reach you. A phenomenon of nature to avoid a direct synchronization of our devious minds which would cause unpredictable cosmic events... So really you can't and it's (far) beyond DA's reach anyways!
9. Let's meet somewhere in Europe with our beloved soulmates this summer, take photographs and publish them together then comment each other like crazy!
10. Why do you want to be the first by the way? I love it when you conclude the round of comments because it means people will read yours first! Your real challenge should be to find a way to be the last... Photography is so close to love sometimes it just scares me!

justeline In reply to BriceChallamel [2009-05-28 15:58:54 +0000 UTC]

I will be perfectly honest to you Charlie: I don't think such a scenario will ever work cause in order to be the first to comment on one of your pictures I'll have to make a trivial, common, premade comment and you've got to stop leaving me speechless with your submissions. I've already seen your new one and have been opening and closing it since you submitted it without being able to come up with anything more meaningful than "wow, whoa, that's just... " I have been trying to be a brainless/senseless vegetable in order to keep my sanity for so long that it still gets way too difficult to give voice to thoughts and feelings. But for conversations shake lets see if any of those ideas you offered might work
1. Nah, I'm losing the element of surprise here. Best thing that could happen is that you and your lovely companion would be visiting me at my place to notify me of the exact time of the upcoming deviation.
2. hell, doesn't work
3. I bribed my way to a DD with an exquisite plate of homemade lasagna!
4. Didn't work either cause the minute I start playing exotic games with him he completely loses the ability to concentrate. Plus, this poor ignorant fool doesn't watch you (i think, judging from the lack of comments on your deviations) and, to be honest, that's the only thing i have to hold against his seemingly good taste and judgment!
5. That's only because I've put a nude photo of me as an id picture Nah, didn't!
6. Actually the dog drooled all over the computer and then gave birth to a litter of amazingly cute puppies on the keyboard, wanna adopt one? Oh, forgot, you already have a pet and he's totally incompatible!
7.
8. wow, didn't know about that
9. yesyesyesyes!!!
10. awww

Though a wonderful piece of work, far greater than what I can produce, I have to point out that the sense of depth has been sacrificed for the balance of green color throughout the image.
Also if the roof in the foreground was to be a bit more darker, it would help distribute the eye to explore more carefully.
