This was... an incredibly crafted round, holy shit. When you have an OP character, 'death' is the only way to go, but you did it JUST RIGHT, so it still felt surprising and meaningful. the emotional heaviness perfectly counterbalanced the intense fighting, not everyone gets that fight scenes are best used as a dramatic externalization of a characters emotional arc, but you've really got it... and man, incredible pacing.... incredible art... i really felt the MOVEMENT on the page, it was so cinematic, the sounds and the atmosphere and the character performance... Just... really good job, man. I hope you let DeviantArt know when you start publishing/posting your own comics, you are well on your way to making this medium your bitch.

Thanks! It's interesting, but I didn't set out to take it as far as it went. I knew narrative wise that this point of the story would be a "low" point, but it wasn't supposed to be... quite so low. But I wasn't sure if I was going to make it past this round so I was like, hell, let's see how far I can take it. My real concerns were the pacing and the action. Like, I cut the action down quite a bit and I didn't get around to all of the dialogue I wanted to (there was a lot of explaining to do.) I tried to interlace a lot of it with the action and scene transitions to help it all flow together better and not mess with the pacing so much. I'm hearing it was largely successful, which is good. But it could have been a lot better I think. Plus I ended up 15 pages over my target, WELL, 10 pages since I was aiming for 35 this time. That's still a lot better than how I used to do comics when I wasn't taking conservation into consideration.

In any event, people seem to really like it, so I'm glad.
