Story in progress. Wrote already over 3000 words..... didn't get to part connected to show itself. Sigh.

reference: no tracing, needed ref for horse a bit and for rright pick of overall colors.
i burned painting this xD and yet see so many things, that could be fixed, but i dunno how xD constructive critique is welcome.

Since I really like this work here some small tips for improvement:
- The trees near the fire could need some more red/orange reflected light from the fire.
- The grass seems too green for such a big fire, especially since it gets bigger the farer away from the horse it is. Seems strange, even for magicly lit fire.
- Maybe some white steam/black earth where they try to extinguish the fire? Just a little?
- Is the smoke near his head from his breath? Than it should look a little more pointed to him, not so round at the very beginning. And why has the horse none?
- The coat/cape seems to be of regular/worn out fabric. Wouldn't it burst in flames so near the horse/on his owner? Maybe fireproof material (metal plates, dragon skin, salamander skin, phoenix feathers ...)?
- No saddle? That guy has hot balls! XD No, just a joke ...

(sorry for the wait, i didn't want to reply, before i will have time to adress the notes you gave me)
So i tried to apply almost everything, and I think it look bit better :3 thank you. Except for two things: if it's day, the fire doesn't glow enough to actually lit surroundings (atleast what i've seen on refs www.google.cz/search?q=burning⦠) and second: the cloth. It's because these horses have control over fire and burn only what they want to burn, so no actual need for protection, if horse himself doesn't want to burn the thing
