Haircuff is an incredibly kind man with a penchant for 'picking up strays' as he calls it. He's a bit of a hermit when it comes to the public eye, but he doesn't particularly dislike company, either. He's gentle and wise, easy to talk to, and willingly gives advice to those who need it. In all, he's actually the nicest half-demon you'll meet. Though it's unlikely, if he would be put into a situation where he had to care for someone, he would gladly take on the responsibility. He often refers to himself as "grandpa" or "grandfather" when it comes to those he's spent time raising/caring for.

He has an avoidance for humans and immortals which causes him to draw back from public eye. As a child, he felt he was born under the wrong conditions, and sought to find a purpose for his life. Because of this, he has a sore spot when it comes to the Threadworks and the general political air of the North. He's not lonely in his own company, nor is he malicious about keeping himself away from others; he simply doesn't put himself in public eye or bother himself with life outside of his Dragon's Nest.

He's got a playful side, since he refers to himself as a grandfather. He loves to taunt and tease those he keeps close, playing tricks or pushing someone into a lake- he may say he's old, but he doesn't act it. He has a lot of energy, and loves to sing. He's incredibly easy-going, too.

When you're born, you don't get to choose who you are, what you look like, or where you live; Despite this, all these factors end up defining you and shaping you to what you will eventually become via societal expectations and norms. Haircuff struggled with this fact for the greater part of his life until he decided to just say "fuck it."

His mother had not chosen to have a child with a demon, but that is exactly what happened. It hadn't been her choice to have sex with one, either. She was damned if she had him and damned if she tried to rid herself of him, but in the end she chose to keep the child and keep his origins a secret. Easier said than done, as his eyes told the truth of his true nature. Regardless, his mother raised him.

He and his mother spent a lot of time traveling around Europe. His mother was a talented musician who used her magic to heal others, but would flee when she was found to have magic properties in fear of being stoned as a witch. She taught Haircuff these powers, too, using song as a catalyst for their healing magic. The two made a pretty great duo, but Haircuff wanted to dance to the beat of his own drum. In the Northern Sector, he was inspired by the works of the Sages, and wished to become one. His mother supported his passion, and they managed to get him enrolled in training through a bit of deception. He showed incredible talent, his intentions completely pure, but it wasn't long before the Threadworks caught on to his genetic origins and he was cast out of the program.

Hurt and rejected, he felt like he had lost his passion. He strove to find a purpose for his life and his power, and ended up exploring the colder regions of Europe alone. He spent a good hundred years hunting caribou and taking in weary travelers he'd find. During his travels, he happened across an injured Dracolisle in the snow. The beauty of the creature stunned him for a moment, but he quickly made work to heal the dragon. It promptly picked him up when it could stand and ended up flying him back to its home: a dragon sanctuary run by an Angel named Tunic. He was grateful for Haircuff's care, and offered him to stay the night. He stayed quite some time after that learning to care for the beasts, and finally felt that he found his calling; He wanted to spend his life caring for dragons.

Since then, he has created the largest sanctuary for dragons to date in the Icelandic area. It's difficult to get to, but it's not unheard of for someone to stumble in. He'll gladly take them in so long as they show no ill will.
