Whelp, I said I wanted to do something special for this date (Sonicβs 21st Anniversary) so here it is. For your viewing pleasure I give you a secret entry and hidden un-lockable of my own Anniversary Series, Super Sonic!Pretty boss, huh? (Get it?... Cuz he fights bosses?... *bad pun*)
After all the hard work of collecting the various chaos emeralds, the player is rewarded with this brilliant character. Super Sonic seems to be the answer to every terrifying evil. Pretty apt when you consider the raw power within those precious gemstones. It was always said a miracle would occur when all seven were combined and it is clear through all my experiences with the golden one that he is indeed a manifestation of such. His light shines brighter than any other and he is capable of cutting through any darkness.
This picture is a rarity as it combines the talents of both me and my brother (as I have said BroDogz is a joint account) instead of us both submitting our own art. It took a bit of doing to keep on the same page but the end result was well worth it. The chaos emeralds were a fun diversion to work with and that many glowing objects fighting for the viewerβs eye presented a new challenge. The pose works great and I can simply imagine Sonic teasing good old Eggman to no end. Sonic knows how it will end; Eggman knows how it will end. It is only really a matter of time. I sometimes wonder if Eggy hates the color gold more than blue. lol
Thx for all the support you guys have given me on this series. I truly appreciate it!
And lets all wish the Sonic the Hedgehog Franchise a happy 21st Birthday!

I have a bit of experience w/ stuff like that. I have gotten pretty good at special fx over the course of working on my Pokemon Webcomic.

Great drawing of Sonic in his super powered "SUPER" form! Love the golden glow & the way 7 Chaos Emeralds! It's never easy getting all those emeralds but it's worth it for a character like this! It's exactly what you need for a big boss fight!Β Egg-Man's in big trouble for messing up Sonic's attempt at "Chaos Control" at the end of the "Worlds Collide" cross over with Mega Man the next time Sonic goes "SUPER"! Merry X-MAS & Happy New Year!!!

As long as you plan out how you want to make him glow in advance, it is very fun. Doing something like that on the fly can really be a pain.

Multiple glow and lens flare effects in Photoshop. Took a while since I have so many glowing objects, but it was worth it.

I love how the gold contrasts with the black background, it makes it pretty easy to look at and it's just a nice effect. It also suits the little description you gave as well. About him being able to cut through any darkness. Also, did you mean that as a literal meaning or kind of a deeper meaning, like, being able to cut through evil with his good?(I couldn't find a way to word that better lol)
...And I really like how the emeralds are drawn as well. :3
His thumbs on both hands look a little off but maybe I'm wrong

A little of both I guess. If you are looking for a little more fancy wording, i can put it like this:
In the presence of great light shadows will always recede. Shadows will hide behind other objects to escape the brilliant source. Light and Dark can not coexist in the same space and the two are intertwined in an everlasting dance through time and space and beyond the stars.
And yes the emeralds are rather cool. ^^
