Description I am sort of happy with this.
But I need advice from you pro's on this one.
Anybody sees that lower left edge there, yes? The edgy shore?
I get them edgy lines now and then, and I have no clue as to avoid them - or what causes them in the first place.
So, any advice is appreciated!

My pro opinion is: IT ROCKS!!
Great Terragen deviation.

As for the edgy shore, I didn't think it looked too bad, but here's what causes it and how to fix it. As you probably noticed when rendering this picture the computer renders the landscape first and then the sky... in pieces. Those pieces are like 2D flat-plates that connect with other pieces to form 3D surfaces. The problem is though if the plates are too big they become noticeable and you can see the interesection points (as in your picture). The best and possibly the only way to fix this is to change your render settings to maximum all around. You may need to change the landscape size to 513 or larger (Note: this will increase your render time). Defeinitely change the Detail bar to maximum, on the registered version of the program I reccommend checking the box for "Extra Blended Detail", slide the Atmospheric and Cloud Shading Bars to maximum. And if all else fails, move the camera a few degrees away from the edgy part of the picture.

Hope this helps you some. For rendering a great picture I'm giving this a

First off, thank you lots for the fav!
Second: thank you for that detailed comment I'm using the free version of Tgen (toying with the idea to get the registered one anytime soon, though). I never quite got how Tgen renders, thanks to you now I've got at least a good idea of it. I always set all the sliders I can to max, so the only solution will be to move the camera around to avoid those triangles.
Agen, thank you, it's always good to have helpful hints by people who're better than me!

First off: Your welcome
Second: You didn't hear it from me but if you go to [link] and search for Terragen (include the number of whatever version you are using) you can download a FREE key generator there to unlock the program. And if you can't find one, I'll email the keygen I have to you.
Third: Thanks for all your comments on the pics in my gallery. Keep checking back; I'm always experimenting with Terragen despite being an expert and I need lots of positive criticism to keep my work interesting.

See ya round.

The lighting is very good (though I think that the shore on the left side could be a little brighter). Nice work!

Looks like the tide is goind out! I really dig the lighting here. The sharp edges on the water look like they might be dangerous however. Nice image overall.. very cool!

As I said, I'm not too keen on those sharp shore edges, but have no idea how to avoid them....maybe higher water levels as someone suggested...

thanks for the comment, hun!

well i may be no terra-gen expert but i might hav a soultuion to ur problem...try making 2 redners...render one as such rendered above...and render the other without the water...then put them both in photoshop and blend one shorline into the other until u can smooth it out...if that makes any sense to you...then yay!...otherwise give me a "huh?" and i'll elaborate.

That's a way I usually do with Poser renders, when I have a lot of so called Poke-throughs....haven't thought to take that over to Terragen renders, too *L* I'll have to try that method out, soon, too *s*
thanks for the suggestion!

*blink* me? teaching? *LOL* My method is: grab a terrain, slap a surface to it (though I'm trying to do my own surfaces atm), add an athmossphere (lots of playing with the settings til ya got what ya want), and then push the camera to there, pre-render, over here,pre-render, up,pre-render, down, pre-render, when yer happy, render. *L*
