Maybe I should clear something up... I am fine with Fan-fictions, I am alright if the fan characters are actually DRAWN, but what I am not alright with is taking official artwork of Sonic and his friends, coloring over it, and calling it your own. THAT IS NOT OKAY.

Sonic artists with genuine talent and creativity are getting swept under the rug because of people who think they can get some fame by making Sonic vermilion and giving him a star marking
seriously
that kind of people is making people brush off artists and authors with genuine creativity who have chosen to work hard to make a character that is genuinely theirs
people associate laziness and dirty jokes with the words "Sonic fanfic" and "Sonic fanart"
But there are so many talented people who work so hard and draw clean art
there are people who have gone completely ignored who have world-changing talent because of people who wanted to become famous by doing nothing
not every fanfic fits the stereotype
there are people who create entirely new worlds and multiverses
seriously
my fanfic has literal multiple universes that I had to think through
the only long-lost-bro moment in my fanfic is when Shadow discovers that Sonic is his bro which actually makes sense in that AU
There are amazing AUs so wildly different from game canon that someone who only knew that Sonic went fast could read it and understand it fully
and the lazy people who just want fame are stifling these amazingly creative artists who have actually worked hard enough to deserve it

I make unoriginal characters, but two things make it better.
1. I DON'T recolor
2. I am at least TRYING to think of ideas to make them look different.

I totally agree with you. I mean, I hate it when people re-color. I also hate fan-characters. I mean, I'm alright with them. What I HATE is when they say that they went on an adventure with Sonic or some other official character, or had children with them, or something along those lines. Face it people... IT NEVER HAPPENED. XD I love this pic.
