Description Alright, here's my second ever submission, and this time we're heading to the (Former) Soviet Union.

AK-47: I'm sure everyone, their grandma, and their dog has heard of the AK-47. First put on paper in 1944, and accepted into service in 1949, the Avtomat Kalashnikova model 1947 was to become an icon of soviet ingenuity. The AK-47 Fires the 7.62x39mm M43 & M67 cartridge. I've also made the AKS-47, a variation of the -47 with a folding stock that appears to be patterned on the WWII German MP40's. Contrary to what movies say, the REAL AK-47 is a rare find in today's market. They were only produced from about 1949 to 1959, when it was replaced by the AKM. As such, finding genuine AK-47s can be difficult.

AKM: The Avtomat Kalashnikova Modernizirovanniy is an upgraded AK introduced in 1959, and the most prominent AK of all the Russian variants. Several improvments were added to the AKM,including a stamped steel lower, strengthening ribs on the receiver cover, a straighter stock and 'plastic' pistol grip, a muzzle brake, and a device called the Rate Reducer. Also includes the AKMS. Like I mentioned above, The true AK-47 does not appear as often in fiction as you might think: often times it is the AKM or the Chinese-copied Type 56 Assault rifle that fill in for the role.

AK-74: Now for one that isn't as well known. Built in 1974 as a replacement for the AKM and AK-47, the AK-74 was a radical departure from the other two. A lot of the improvements from the AKM were kept for the 74; in fact, about 50-60% of the parts from the AK-74 can be swapped with the AKM or AK-47. Some new things introduced include a new muzzle brake and new wooden - later high-impact plastic - furniture, but the most important change was the caliber. After closely watching NATO operations in Vietnam, the Soviets were shocked to see a new rifle enter the fray; the American M16 Assault rifle. After closely studying the M16 and it's 5.56x45mm round, the Russians went to work on a small caliber bullet of their own. Enter the 5.45x39mm M74, and THIS is the round the AK-74 would use. It is still a standard issue rifle for the now Russian federation. Also included are the AKS-74 and AKS-74U rifles. It has been replaced by the AK-100 series of rifles, and was scheduled to be replaced by the recent AK-12 family, but that rifle was dropped. So the AK-74 might continue to see service in the years to come.

AKS-74U: Now i felt this one deserved it's own paragraph. Accepted into service in 1979 the Russians wanted a carbine-length rifle for paratroopers, vehicle crews, and second-line troops. The AKS-74U was adopted into service with the Russian military and with select police units; at least one office with have an AKS. Contrary to popular belief and portrayal in games, the AKS is NOT a submachine gun, but rather an Assault Rifle Carbine: An assault rifle that has been shortened for close combat. Despite this, It is oficially used in the submachine gun role, despite firing a rifle-caliber round (5.45x39mm).

NOTE: If you guys know anything about AK's i don't, leave a comment below.

My Aks are in the classic Soviet Style. I prefer the old look to the new ak100 series. I love the Bakelite mags in the AKM.

Nice but these are just basic version you can have a GP-25 grenade launcher and a smaller grenade launcher for AKS-74U and gun 2 and gun 4 are the same just different flash hiders so thats nice and did you know many people believe that Mikhail Kalashnikov based his design of the AK-47 on the STG44 or Sturmgewehr 44 or MP44 or Maschinenpistole 44(BTW it is a nazi weapon) and he denies it but look and it and you can tell the similarities

I intentionally made only the basic RUSSIAN models, believe me i could have tried to make the ENTIRE AK family including models from different countries. I also opted to keep accessories out of this picture (That and PMG doesn't have the GP)
Also, from what research i've done, the AK was developed without the influence of the Sturmgewehr. I think Kalashnikov only got to see the StG after he'd designed the AK. Any similarities the AK and StG have is probably only cosmetic.
