EEEP, this looks so dashing and pretty! You got his colors down just right and have brought him to such life with the metals dancing around him. It's such a pretty display of him and his abilities at work, and it gives me such inspiration for this guy. What a gift to be able to portray things so beautifully. <3

I really wish you'd make your own pet adoptable site. >_>

Haha, what does that mean? I'm not very familiar with those.
I am working on a personal website to show off programming and music stuff as well as art and characters, and considered making some "adoptable" graphics. Like the cute little Dragcave things. Mine would have animations because flying, jumping, glowing beasties are more fun than static ones.
Not sure how the images could change over time though, and I've no idea about making a login/account system. :s Maybe if someone else wants to collaborate on this project...

Ah, well, an adoptables website is essentially like a pet collectible game. You collect pets (many different sites have many different kinds such as dogs, wolves, dragons, horses, etc.) and in some cases the sites center around breeding those pets to create unique offspring (FlightRising, Felisfire, Lioden, etc.) I think your style would really fit that kind of website. I'd certainly sign up. XD I'm sure you could come up with all sorts of neat equine creatures and markings. Out of all pet sites, canines, felines, and equines are quite well received by potential users.
If I knew anything about coding a website then I'd offer to help, but as it is I just do conceptual design work and site lore (so the site "story" makes sense). Right now I'm working on creating a fantasy canine pet site and have all the logistics for it pretty much thought out along with species designs (we're lucky enough to have already commissioned our first species lines). But alas, the coding is left up to my friend. XD

XD There are a lot of different names used for them. Virtual pet sites, adoptable sites, pet breeding sims, etc. Sorry, I end up using them interchangeably a lot. But yeah, something along those lines. (And yeah, very complex. Though for the right people I'm sure it's a breeze. Alas, my extent of such knowledge is limited to how to bold or italicize a line of text.)
And you're right about that. Adoptables do generally mean that (I'm just used to being around people who use it for all pets sites). There's Dragcave and then there's also ChickenSmoothie that follow those guidelines, though on CS you get to decorate pets with accessories and stuff.

Mm, the latter type (just clicking and watching things grow) sounds more of my kinda thing. No way I could code anything bigger than that. x)
Not sure how it works though; if images change by themselves, how is it timed/automatically done? If clicks are needed, that would require individual entries on a database... and then user accounts to track/collect creatures. Guess I'll have to ask someone for help in setting it up. ^^

Generally on most sites it's done by age (assuming it's not something like Squiby or Dragcave that relies upon clicks). So once a "baby" hits five days or something, it automatically ages up upon site rollover. Generally that's not very hard to code, I think. So long as you have the stage art and whatnot, I think it's one of the simpler and more common things that gets done for sites like that. Some do more than one age evolution, but in general it's the same. Somehow I think that going by clicks might be a bit more complicated. XD
I'm not entirely sure what the going rate for coders is, though, so if you know someone who knows how to code or can work out a deal then that's the best way to get it done. If you do find someone, though, and get together a working concept, I know that a lot of up and coming game site owners will run a kickstarter to gain enough funs to launch into beta.
Tbh, I think the hardest part of making a game site is getting a cash system up and running so you can keep a steady income coming into the site to pay for servers and stuff. But once you find out what users want and what they'd be willing to buy, you're pretty set.
