People die if they are killed.
Says the guy that eventually kills himself....and lives to tell the tale

Continuing the trend of horrible fan translations since 2004.

it has to happen, this route focuses on her so its her turn for the ripping. otherwise its still just excellent humour.

Though, "People die if they are killed" is actually rather laden with philosophical meaning if taken in the context of the conversation.
I'm trying to think of a context that wouldn't make "The Archer class really is made up of archers!" sound goofy.
Also my next thought would be: "The Archer class really is made up of archers....and Gilgamesh."

from what I heard from that Scene Rin said:
Archer (the servant) is really an archer
I think she was trolling him a bit

Bro......Sarcasm....Get a sense of humor. The "People die" was a literal translation error.

it's not a translation error. that's actually exactly what he said.

In anycase, Rin's comment was pure sarcasm. Emiya's comment was from bad writing and translation.
So you're still wrong.

I know it was sarcasm.
but as I said, in Shiro's case, it WASN'T translation error, I understand japanese and what he says is "hito wa korosarereba shinu" which literally means "People die if they are killed" (though in his case he was trying to make a point, it's better explained in the Visual Novel. but i don't remember very well what was he was talking about. it's been a while)

yes, that was literally what he said.
But those two verbs have different connotative meanings in the language.
A literal translation is not a contextual translation. So it was still a translation goof going for the literal rather than the contextual meaning.
That said the conversation as a whole might work better with the literal translation.

well, he was making a point on how "people die when they are killed but that doesn't happen to me because of *spoilers*"
