"Awesome" is a bit of a misnomer. "Freaking terrifying" is a bit closer to the truth...

I think they both need to go on a diet.

normally i wouldn't be fond of overly wide stompers, but the Awesome here actually looks like it might be able to support its own weight, much unlike most sci-fi walkers, and that makes the redesign pretty badass.

Raven is 35 tons. Awesome is 80 tons. The Awesome is 228% heavier than the raven. Awesome in this picture, as cool as it may look, appears to be over 600% larger than the Raven.

I love the scale comparisons on all y our Battlemech designs. I feel like scale was always an issue for art in the BT books. The mechs were so often painted or drawn so large in comparison to the buildings and people beside them that either the cockpits didn't seem practically sized or the mechs themselves seemed ENTIRELY too big for the tonnage they supposedly weighed.

dude. thats an awesome awesome. its huge. like, it feels truely massive. while battletech doesnt know how to do tonnage in realistic terms, id have to estmate this thing weigh 200-500 tons.

Don't lose your inspiration; this look is, to pardon the intentional pun, "Awesome"!

Keep in mind basic geometry if you're trying to keep canon weights. Β Something double the dimensions of a Raven is an insane ultra-heavy 280-ton not an 80-ton assault. Β That said this thing looks 8 times as dangerous!

Thanks! Yeah, the fatsome is too far away of the canon basics, just played with my favourite battlemech without restrictions.

The sense of scale here is especially palpable. It's not something most artists take time to capture and I like that you did that. The contrast between the toad-like Awesome and the squat Raven really sell the roles as an assault and scout respectively. Well done.
