Megan: "It was time. I received the fateful call for my first Hexagon Champions match. It was time to see if all my training, scouting and learning paid off. I was no stranger to walking into arenas, as I've been doing this for over a decade in different capacities. But this tournament had a totally different feel. A raw feeling of emotion that was hard to describe. Connected, yet distant. The organizers were invested in their fighters success, but just as the thrill of victory came, the agony of defeat would set in for those who did not advance, and just like that, their hopes were dashed until the next tournament. I wasn't planning to lose. Let alone in the first round. I stood in the ring across from my opponent Lanka. She was in great shape, and she looked like she had a few reps in the fighting world as well. I would not take her lightly. The bell rang and we squared up. I immediately assumed my Muay Thai position as I paced forward to Lanka, who exhibited a more traditional martial arts stance. My size and reach advantage would play a huge role here. Let's see how she responds to my ranged attacks."
