Description This is my second attempt at taking a picture of the moon. I do think this one is slightly better than last nights' (I like the shadows more on this one), but it's not phenomenally different.

Which do you like more?

Thanks a bunch! Did you take a look at this moon photo? [link] I think that one came out even better.

You are right that one is way better. You take some great shots of the moon. I too like to take pictures of the moon. It and nature, waterfalls, lakes and animals are the things I like to take pictures of the most. Check out my gallery and let me know what you think.

I really like this one! You showed so much detail with the craters, and I really love the angle on this one better than the last one. Excellent Work!

Thanks! I thought this one came out better too after comparing both. I would take more tonight but it's rainy and humid so it's too blah to stay out for pictures. I hope for a few indoor pictures tonight.

There is significantly more detail in this shot than your first. Take another look, you can really see the craters in this one, last nights was much much softer and the detail was lost.

Your at a point with the moon and your gear that improvements are not amazing but rather incremental. With the moon that really counts since without really big lenses or telescopes your having to crop severely to get a decent size image.

Thanks! I didn't notice the difference at first when I was just looking through the pictures on my SD card. I was like "hmm... looks the same" But after comparing the pictures side by side I was like "hmm there is a difference! yay!" haha. It was hard trying to choose the one best one after i had taken like 40 shots of the moon....lol

I definitely think it's incremental differences but as long as it's better than the last then that's all that matters to me. Progress is progress.

yes, you are close if not AT the limit of your camera with that last shot.... And yes when you shoot a bunch of shots of a non changing subject it is hard to decide what is best Same with animals when you shoot a few hundred shots of a moose it is hard to decide which is the wall-hanger and which is DA worthy

lol you are lucky enough to take pics of the moose! I wish there was amazing wild life here... maybe I just take Florida for granted. When i think of wild life here.. i think of alligators, sea gulls, herons, crows and sand cranes. Of course there's more but I don't live in a very "wild area" I might need to take a trip to the zoo
