A boy named Jack finds the magic fern flower and must choose between great wealth, which can not be shared, and happiness.

I was asked for the brief summary of the legend, so here it is: the magical fern flower blooms once a year, during the summer solstice, and it was believed that whoever finds it will be blessed with great wealth. A boy called Curious Jack manages to do so and he gets the treasure, but the flower takes root in his heart, making it hard and selfish. Jack leaves his poor family and indulges in excessive life, from time to time only thinking back to the past. After years, however, the wealth ceases to give him happiness, longing for his family becomes unbearable, but when Jack finally decides to return, it's already too late. His father, mother and siblings died of hunger and poverty. At the end Jack begs in despair for death and falls under the ground along with the cursed flower.

Red cap with sheepskin surround and a peacock feather, which Jack holds, is part of the traditional outfit, worn by ethnographic group derived from the city of Krakow and its surroundings.
