awestruck... and the title just works! Excellent work!

i like this version more than the sepia because the tones are more 'transparent', if you know what i mean. there is less colour, therefore there is a feeling of emptiness and barrenness which goes perfectly with the title. great work!

This shot is beautiful! Very emotional, really invokes feelings of loneliness and nostalgia for times past. Its absolutely wonderful. A great composition and looks like a very good exposure on the scene.
I do want so say a few things that I see as downfalls to this shot, however, they are purely on a technical level only. First, i think the noise is a bit much, maybe the grain size is too big, if added in intentionally... maybe try a smaller size. The other one I can tell, is that, it seems to me that you selected the sky for additional tweaking and inadvertently selected the very tip top of the tree line as well. The tree line has a harsh white to the very top that I would see if you could blend a little better. The last thing, would be the contrast on the sky. It is very intense, which is not a bad thing, however it seems to me that it has created sort of blockiness up top, and the sky seems to be in solid chunks of color (i guess posterization is the term)
Besides the few technical shortcomings... I think this is a wonderful photo. I have always found that the best photos are ones that invoke feelings, and this one most certainly invokes feelings. It is a beautiful composition and an absolutely gorgeous photo. This would be a definate fav if it werent for those.
If you plan on working on this a little more, let me know and I would be willing to see if I could assist you at all in fixing those up slightly.
Excellent work!

First of all I want to thank you for the comment on this. Secondly, I made some adjustments to the shot, following your advice, the best I could. I uploaded the original (the way it was) to my scraps for a comparison. It is here [link] . If you get the chance, I'd love to hear how you think I did. Thanks again for the comment and advice, it gave me the motivation to make the shot better, at least I think it's better now.

It is certainly better I think, you have certainly smoothed some of those technical issues out a bit. I added it to my favs this time cause now I dont feel like they are distracting from the photo. Again, great shot. Glad I could help!
