Description Yea, I finished! I am soo behind on jumping on this bandwagon, but whatever. It took a lot of thinking and paring down, but I just used those who influenced me artistically. I have many more writers/musicians/ movies who influence me to write and dance, but no space. XD

Let's see... details:

1. Wendy Pini taught me how to draw. Really. And I would never have done any sort of comicing if it hadn't been for ElfQuest. I owe her a great deal.

2. Disney movies have always influenced me, mostly because I loved animation as a kid and kept trying my hand at it. XD

3. Colleen Doran makes me envious with her watercolors and her pencils, and pushed me to try and start drawing more realistically. And I also tried my hand at watercolors because of her.

4. Ryu Fujizaki is brilliant. I think Houshin Engi was the very first manga I ever wrote a doujinshi for (in Japanese!), and trying to emulate his style was really difficult but fun.

5. CLAMP. They never cease to amaze me with their stories and art style. And they can change the design from one project to the next! I also love how experimental they are with panels, and have tried my hand many times at being the same.

6. Warner Brothers. There's a lot of people who thing WB is better than Disney. Personally, I love them both for their differences. And I grew up on Bugs Bunny.

7. Paul Kidby. I sometimes wish I lived in the UK so I could get Paul Kidby's covers instead of the graphic ones they put here in the States. He has such soul in his art and charicatures. At least there's The Art of Discworld. I just look at his work and want to draw.

8. Larry Elmore. Love his paintings and his comic Snarf. I loved how he did black and white backgrounds and worked hard to do the same in my comics.

9. Rumiko Takahashi. Ever since I discovered Ranma 1/2 in college, I wanted to do manga. I copied her inking style all the time, and tried really hard to get my brush work to look like hers.

10. Michael Whelan is the god of SF/Fantasy painting. Anytime I'm stuck for color ideas, I go to him.

11. I learned about Will Eisner late in life, when I bought some books about cartooning that he wrote, but I am so glad I discovered him. His inkwork and storytelling are amazing, and he constantly pushed the comic medium. I just get so inspired reading his work.

12. I love how Yoshihiro Togashi experiments in every single piece of work! Yuu Yuu Hakusho was my favorite (though I really love Level E too). And I admire the man's imagination, though sometimes it does scare me.

13. Eichiro Oda is not scared of Perspective. Ever. I learn so much about perspective just looking at One Piece.

14. Jodi A Lee. If it hadn't been for her, I would never have picked up a Mercedes Lackey book. She gets the soul of each book down in one beautiful painting. I love her colors

15. George Perez is the man who made me love Wonder Woman. He helped bring back the Greek Mythology, and insisted that Diana look pretty, but not too sexy. I loved that about him.

16. I included the video games that inspired me the most artistically.
I think my original pirate story was a complete spinoff of The Curse of Monkey Island, and I know a couple of characters were inspired by the character designs in this game.

Sierra's games just made me want to draw. And, I started novellizing the entire Quest for Glory series (though I only finished the first one).

Dragon Age... just look at my gallery. I think you'll see the influence there. XD

I loved the brilliant bold colors of the Legend of Kyrandia series, and tried very hard to paint a number of the backgrounds.

Final Fantasy 7... I did a lot of fanart for this too. XD

And if you made it through that whole thing, you gets a cookie!
