Description
Well I haven't done one of these in a long time. I've had Tonsillitis for the past week and also a week of Uni so lots of spare time to get this finished. I would like to do more drawings since I haven't drawn in ages so going to try and do more of these.Not sure how I feel about it, sometimes I love it, other times I hate it, but I'm just going to leave it at that and move on to the next piece.
A4, charcoal.

I'm definately adding to my favourites. I've always found it hard to do blonde hair, and you've done it really well here. So this will be my source of inspiration next time I draw someone who's blonde! And the eyes are really beautifully done...

I give you points for the medium alone. Charcoal is a tough medium to handle. The likeness is great...there's something very minor that's missing, and I can't put my finger on it, but this is still an excellent piece all around. Thumbs way up!

I think the bridge of her nose might be a bit too pronounced, and you might want to make the outer, lower edges of her eyes even a bit wider. Her eye shape is very distinctive IRL. Anyway, a beautiful portrait! I know how challenging it can be to make such a high-key work with charcoal, and you've succeeded admirably.

This is a wonderful likeness...however I think the strand of hair across the left eye is a bit distracting. maybe a shadow under it would help???

Aww thanks for the great comment. And yeah I guess it is a bit distracting, it was really hard to do because the strand was so light and could really only be seen when it went over the eye which was really dark. I don't think I made the distinction between the two sharp enough.

Yeah...I could see it was a strand of hair in fron of the eye, but where it went on the forehead is where I lost it. The value for the forehead and the strand of hair are about the same...
