Description
Just like with the Grass type, specifying my favorite among the ground types was also
a tougher decision. It's a type I genuinely like, so finding pokémon which I fancy was
hardly a problem (Nidoking, Torterra, Camerupt, Piloswine, I could go on). But Quagsire
is definitely my choice.

Now, one could argue that I picked this dapper amphibian for the sole reason of creating
additional art of my own strip , and while I do admit I wanted to draw either or both of them
with my current skills, Quagsire and I actually go way back.

He was part of my team in Pokémon Gold (my golden team GET IT), and was carefully
evaluated among all of the water pokémon available before earning a slot in my party.
Which means he was the first water creature I came across (or to be precise, Wooper).
But in retrospect, he wasn't shabby. Ice Punch TMs was sold in shops those days (didn't
know how lucky we were), so along with Surf and Earthquake, getting a super effective
hit wasn't too difficult. And while I didn't know it then, Water/Ground is to this date my
favorite type combination. Two great attack types fused into one and only weakness as a
result (albeit a hefty one). Now, there's four more species sharing said typing who pulls
off his job better, but Q man was first. Is all I'm saying.

So together with his smile and easy-going nature (read the dex entries. Quagsire is
tolerant like no other), he's a fish I don't have any problems to like and relate too. And he
looks so smashing in a top hat. Ladies.
