This is on and off weeks of work, but in the end completely worth it.
I know it's hard to see all the detail in a smaller preview, but SOOOO much brush work in those waves! XD

Whelp. They had me at Secret of the Kells. Something I'd highly recommend if people have overlooked it, very thick in fantasy. I have to say though they did leaps and bounds in animation for this second one. Guessing they made good money on the first movie if this one is anything to go by. xD

Fantastic work! Really like the idea. The sirens as seal were a nice touch. And good work on the details, colouring, lighting, shading and poses.

Artistically yes, I agree, however the story left me wanting something more, felt very muted and the stakes weren't really high enough.

Back then when Song of the SeaΒ was just released on digital, I was looking for fanart and found a couple of it, but never did come across an MLP crossover one. Until today, and I'm so happy that I did with this one.
Your work is breathtakingly gorgeous and detailed, that it almost feels like it is done by the artists of the movie (Song of the Sea) themselves. The brushes and detailed lining and dotting is so well done, and I really love how you fitted the castle, Tree of Harmony, blimp and the Princesses around the moon to complete the MLP crossover into the picture. The sirens to represent the seals; a really good touch!
If I were able to visit BronyCon, I would definitely love one of this. Maybe even two!

I am so happy to hear that some of the MLP folks out there have seen this movie!! I can't even describe how inspired, in awe, and starstruck I am by this film. The story is really good albeit a little bit sad. The art direction is second to none in anything I've ever seen. It's beautiful. Every frame is a work of art. Actually was very lucky to see this movie when it was out in theaters and wow what a marvellous masterpiece it was.
Have to say you captured the look of the poster and the feel of the movie just too well hereΒ bunnimation Β and I'm stunned at seeing the comparison to that of the original. Β Think its most amazing where you tied in Twlight to the middle of the story and that of the sirens for the seals in the original, nicely done.
The cartoon look of the movie and its hand drawn style is very clear here with the rich work on the coloring the in depth lighting and the overall warm glow that you get from see this image for the first time. Β Like it best where you tie in the many countless details and decorations that make up the smaller touches of the images like the glowing lights, the sea life beneath the rock and even the many familiar MLP symbols you see up in the moon, just incredible to say the least.
Breathtaking as they are its amazing seeing all that you managed to pack into this work and not leave a single trace of the image without that time and devotion spent to make it all feel and work to the original and showing it being done with just as much justice with the ponies in mind, bravo.
There's so many more things could get into like the waves of the water, the look of each of the sirens or how well your placed Twlight in her the silky coat with the same bright and wonderful look in those eyes. Β You'll be sure to be making some big waves yourself at BronCon and kudos to really taking time to honour the original and all the same greatness and depth that it was based upon, well done. I think that you should be tearing up a plenty for this feedback bunn as you've shown a great deal of the heart and the pride of artist along with a bit of pony backing you up. Β It takes alot of talent and focus to recreate anything into something new and you showed that you had the appreciation of both medium of the original movie in mind and that of the show when you made this.
For being able to create all of that, for being able to let yourself show all the beautiful and wonderful work with your piece here, I have to say that's pretty remarkable. Β Always stand proud with this piece bunn and remember that you can create some true wonders yourself in your work and good on you for that. *shakes hand*
