Don't worry their not, check out William OConnors work on 4th ED including ironically the referance pic. Some pictures in 4th ed have shown them with a red tinge but not many.

They're really a completely different kind of tiefling though too.
Their like an entire race, not just a rare occurence.
Oh, and they're no longer from demon stock.
They're a race descended from humans who were part of a corrupt empire that made deals with the devils, and now every time they reproduce, no matter with what race, the offspring is a tiefling...
It's just kind of silly if you ask me.

lol, sounds like a plan to me I guess.
I have to admit I really hated it until I actually played it. The game mechanics make things actually fun again, lol

Ah but if play in a campaign like Elsbeth here who is from Eberron all of that (and I agree with you here) background rubbish is ignored and the race is adapted to fit into the setting. I also believe that they will still be a rare race in Eberron as well, and still desended from Demons. So theres no reason you can't do the same in your own setting, to be honest I've always ignored background from the PHB's except where it's relevent to where I'm playing.

oh, yeah. In my setting, they're all descendents of mortals who were tempted into having affairs with agents of asmodeus (which would become succubi and inccubi once his treachery was discovered) (actually the direct offspring became cambions, and they parented tieflings)
So the background is much the same as it used to be (adjusting now for the fact that succubi are now devils, which makes a lot more sense to me) except that it doesn't happen as often any more, it was much more common in the early days of the world, and it bears permanence on its descendants.

As per usual, exquisitely done. I really, really love her tail. It's great, the very casual way it hangs behind her, the the 'fins' (i guess that's what you'd call them? xD; ) on the upperside of it are excellently done. I love the way they flop over with the tail, it just looks so realistic. o.o
The brow ridge of the horns is ingenious. With a lot of the 4.0 illustrated teiflings, the ridge-horns make the rest of the face looks sorta... deformed. It's just really pleasing to see a 4e tiefling who's still quite the looker, horns and all. xD
As a side note, since I've yet to find a place in my head for the 4.0 rules to settle, are tiefling's tails still prehensile? Completely unrelated musings right there, but i could help but ask. xD;

not in 4.0 no. but depending on dm i'm sure you can put a feat in there that makes them prehensile. like, training the tail or something. i'm sure my dm would let me

According to the rules no, but theres no reason why you can't keep them prehensile for roleplaying purposes.

Agreed. I only ask because i remember in 3.5 it specifically saying their tails were prehensile, so i was just curious. xD
4.0 is still so confusing to me. xD
