Neph - The Spirit of Autumn

Autumn has always been been one of my favorite times of the year and this piece of artwork was inspired directly from the woodland near where I live.

Neph is one of four sisters which embodies one of the seasons, each season is governed by one of these sisters, the spirit of spring being the youngest and the spirit of winter being the oldest.

Neph is thought of as both the bringer death and life as she prepares the forests for its fall and its inevitable reincarnation the following year,Sewing the seeds of life for her younger sister to nurture in the coming spring.
