Description here is species guide to one of the genus of the owl species the tyto

this does not cover all the barn owls as i have missed some sub species like the tasmanian barn owl which is a sub-species of the australian, also please remember there may be differences in the species e.g. gender or irregularities e.g. madagascar Grass owl can often have very cream coloured owls

hope some of you guys can find this useful in some way or at least just slightly useful

now i must go never draw a owl again ...or at least for a few days

This would be so cool if the Guardians of the Ga'Hoole featured these different Barn Owl species, especially the rare ones.

TheForestpool In reply to nng02 [2018-01-17 07:24:48 +0000 UTC]

They do. Metal Beak is a greater sooty owl, and if you look at the other soldiers that Kludd trains with they are a variety of other species of barn owls.

Those are some nice sketches.

Barn owls are some of my favorite birds to read up on.
Of course, they can be a bit intimidating with that Nazgul screech of theirs lol.
