Name: Ashlyn Lyel

Meaning: Ashlyn means blonde and Lyel is a Scottish surname meaning loyal.

Species: Ashlyn is an eager to please cocker spaniel faunus, her long fluffy ears usually hidden among a mass of pale curls. She may be a cocker spaniel, but she has the nose of a bloodhound, and is able to sniff out contraband through two walls of stone and a can full of deodorizer.

Personality: No one knows what Ashlyn 's life was like before the Academy but she doesn't talk about it. Her eyes glaze and she shrinks inside herself. What's known is that she's eternally grateful and one hundred percent dedicated to the school and her teachers. She's always punctual, practical, precise, carries out instructions from her teachers to the letter, and actally gets surprisingly distraught when circumstances prevent this from happening. Ashlyn's the type of person who needs to dot all of her 'i's and cross her 't's, no exceptions, no excuses, and no way is she going to let her peers (or the students) get away with anything less. Yes, Ashlyn is a stickler for the rules, a champion for the law, and- by most of the student's accounts- the ultimate wet blanket.

Her boyfriend Aurelius believes in the intent of the rules, and sometimes this can clash with Ashlyn's intense belief in the letter of them. She's intense about studying, practice and if you don't respect her authority she's definitely a tattle tale. She's also over protective of Aurelius, harboring a jealous streak she struggles to keep under control. But still, at her core Ashlyn only wants what's best for the students and the school, her approach to doing so is just very straight-laced. In fact, in many's opinion it's painfully straight-laced.

Weapons: Ashlyn wields a basket-hilt rapier that she hasn't bothered to name (as she finds the practice silly). The blade of the sword is kept razor sharp, and the basket is set with various small lightning-dust prisms. When swung the basket crackles with electricity, although an experienced wielder (such as Ashlyn) can keep the charge from this crackling contained in the blade untill needed, whether to electrify the blade's edge or launch a bolt of electricity. Outside of this simple trick, there's not a whole lot making it a special hunting weapon, were it not for the expertise with which Ashlyn wields it. She heavily studies several different forms of classical fencing, and integrates the attacks and footwork of these various styles into a fighting system that efficient, lethal, and to the untrained eye almost effortless.
