Description The culmination of my year long crochet project.

Check out the video of the unrollening!

I have never felt freedom quite like finishing this monster. I CAN FINALLY CROCHET OTHER THINGS!!! I started this back in January of this year, and it's now happily with its owner, the dear sunxine !

If you want one of these for yourself, look somewhere else. I would never attempt to make something like this again unless I was offered at least 5,000 USD. Its final length, as measured with the Apple Measure app in the image above, is 14 feet 11 inches.

If you'd like to commission something else, contact me at crowsheastore@gmail.com! (Etsy store coming soon.)

As of writing, I'm actually crocheting one myself, but in all pastels.

oh lord, I'm not going to like this project am I? XD

Oh boy! I wish you luck. My recommendation is to get comfortable, and don’t expect too much too fast. Pace yourself with it and don’t force it, take your time or you’ll end up hating it!

I'm trying to narrow it down to doing a stripe a day, but that might end up wearing me out. Thank you for the advice!

Yeah, I tried to break it down like that, but I ended I only working on it every week or so. I hope you have fun with it!

I feel like it would be easier to make now that you don't have to do the research...but yea that thing is so massive, I can understand nowt wanting to do it again. Its awesome though!

The research wasn't the time consuming part. It's made with the smallest, most basic stitch, which means it's simple but incredibly tedious. I can go at a fairly good pace, but scarves are just the worst. Soooo looooong... even normal sized ones... =~=

I'd think scarves were easier than like, sweaters and toys, since its just a bunch of rows.

Easy, but not even close to worth the tedium

Fair enough.

That looks awesome!

Fun fact: The Fourth Doctor's scarf was suppose to be a bunch of different colored scarfs, but the person who made it misunderstood and made one big colorful scarf instead. I didn't know this until my Mom told me. She's a huge fan of the older Doctor Who seasons. XD

That's awesome! I actually ended up learning a lot about it while I was making it, and it's hard to tell what's true! I have a feeling it might all be. Apparently it was still two scarves, one being the original and the second being the stunt scarf that had, for some reason, been joined together. This resulted in one end of the scarf being wider than the other! I also read that the person they'd asked to make the scarf simply loved knitting, and she got into a groove only to realize too late that she'd made it super long, but the producers loved it so much that they just kept it!

Wow! That's Awesome! I didn't know that part. It's incredible how sometimes the best things in shows or movies happen by accident.
