Neville is just... great. So great. I remember reading the first Harry Potter book when I was 11, and having a sort of love/hate relationship with the character. He was awkward and a bit annoying, but that somehow made him a likeable (and painfully relatable
) character. Of all of the kids, though, Neville reallly had the most personal growth. How many characters go from bumbling comic relief to badass extraordinaire?Maybe that's Neville's charm... he's only an utter badass when he needs to be, and perfectly content to be happy and awkward otherwise.
Also: EXCUSE TO PLAY WITH CRAYONS! Still playing around with textures... thanks to everyone for their suggestions and artist recommendations. I'm still working things out, but the only way to learn to is try things, eh? Fastest way to see whether or not things work or don't.

Haha, omg I love this, it's too perfect! I love Neville and I love his goofy expression, but I also love the shift from smooth paint to whimsical crayons! I think it's very effective in getting the transition in his character across. And yeah, I agree with everything in the description. He's a great character and one of the best developed ones, honestly.

I ***LOVE*** how it goes from crayon to digital! And I love Neville so much too! It was really only a matter of choice between Harry and Neville where the prophecy was concerned, but I think BOTH boys worked together to bring Voldemort down. Never underestimate the one who looks weak on the outside! Neville is such a BAMF!

Neville is my hero.
His blushy ears and big ol' happy buckteeth are my favorite part, I think! (And hints of stubble, oh my!) I love the flowers and the SPOILER, too, though, haha -- he's just a big gentle awkward kid who socializes better with plants than people, and yet he totally blossoms.
