My first vector work ever.I just finally felt like finding out why people like vector art so much, as I didn't even know first what is vector anyway. (it looks just like some pixel art to me ...)
Well, vector art is fun and now I appreciate it too a bit more after noticing that it took about 5 million years to finish this. XD but of course, as a beginner we can forgive me that.
This is my best friend, . She is <3. I think the original pic is somewhere in her gallery. I took this pic from her irc-gallery so not sure.
; I hope she doesn't mind even I did this pic without her permission. my strawberry bebé <3

only the hair on the left side...it is too great...or it seems that way for my eye, don't know...
but its a so small fault, don't matter in the end i think...

Yeah, now that you mentioned it - the hair is annoying me too a bit. But this work is based on an photo, so the photo would be annoying then too... or I just suck at vectors. yeah, that's the reason. XD but yeah, small fault, my first vector work, all forgiven! \o/

I have started this work making the large areas first (like the white ellipse-head) and then I have done the smaller details like the eyes and the lips. So, if I made the lips smaller, there would be white in that area where the lip line were before. (of course if I tried NOW to make her lips smaller, I would have to edit all the shadows too on the lip, because they are separate vectors too.)

about 2 or 3 hours, I think. You can find really good vector art tutorials in the web, so try to look for one that's about creating vector art with the art program you have.

Well, if I was some die-hard-vector artist, I would use now terms you wouldn't understand at all. :'D So I try to explain as simply as I can. You know you can create circles, lines and squares in art programs? Well, vector art is art made with only those tools. And you can edit and move all the circles, lines and squares without editing the whole picture... Say, if I wanted to make those lips smaller, I could do so without ruining her chin or that berry ... do you understand anything?
