“What a fight!!” said Barry to Masae amongst the noisy crowd.

“Yes it was a great fight,” said Masae. “I’m so happy to have seen it at ringside! It was a beautiful, intense, and moving battle! Both boxers gave it all they had and both had their chances to win it inside the distance. I won’t ever forget it!”

“Nor me, Masae! Whoever ends up the winner I won’t forget how hard they both fought and neither will the fans. How do you think the judges are going to score this? You had the challenger up by just one point when they went into the final round.”
“That’s an impossible question to answer.” Masae frowned. “Everyone judges a fight differently. Some judges score a fight based on the number of solid punches that landed clean. While others focus on who is the more aggressive fighter, and of course which boxer won the most rounds clearly affects how well the total scores agree. This was a very close fight so there are several rounds that could be scored even or in favor of either boxer depending on the judge. I honestly didn’t think many people expected this to be such an even contest.”

“I don’t think anyone did,” said Barry. “But do you think the judges will declare a winner?”

Masae took a few seconds to think. “To my eyes, I do believe there will be a winner in this fight. But luckily it's not for me to say! I see the Hard Knocks ring announcer has just come into the ring so we will hear the real result any moment now. Let's wait for that, Barry.”

“This is one of those moments where I’m glad I’m not a judge.” Barry chuckled.

Masae laughed with him. “Me too.”

All eyes were now on the ring where the referee had collected the scorecards and given the final tallies to the official ring announcer, a striking six foot tall blonde who who would read the judges' scores to the crowd.

The referee called the Azure Valkyrie and the KO Kitten back to the center of the ring.

The moment of truth was near ...
