It must have been a very odd sensation to be driving this Septa unit across a track on which the rails were hidden under the snow.Β  this is a great photo.Β

Love the untouched snow around the unit, quite special. Almost as special as that catenary...very odd looking...

The catenary is like that due to a sharp curve and a minimalist approach taken by the Pennsylvania Railroad when it electrified the line in 1918. Instead of having the scene cluttered with dozens of somewhat unsightly catenary poles, the PRR decided instead to sharply bank and curve the wire.
