Description
I had seen a lot of people making their own original Pokemon Regions and I thought it seemed like fun but I don't know if I am committed enough at the moment to make a complete region, still I like designing some pokemon so here is the Grass Starter for an Egypt/Amalgamation of North East Africa Region
Grass Starters especially most notably in their final evolution tend to have at least part of their design based around an extinct animal
-Venusaur is an Ancient Synapsid or Therapsid, the precursor to Mammals
-Meganium is a Sauropod Dinosaur like Brontosaurus
-Sceptile is a Theropod Dinosaur, more specifically is probably based on a Dilophosaurus
-Torterra is obviously a Tortoise but part of their design is also meant to incorporate aspects of an Ankylosaurus
-Serperior is possibly based on the ancient Titanoboa a gigantic prehistoric snake
-Chesnaught is supposed to be a Hedgehog but also very much explicitly based on a Glyptodont
-Decideye is based on the extinct Stilt Owl, you can see it in it's long legs
-And Rillaboom is pretty clearly based on a Gorilla but could be based on an extinct species of Gorilla or the Gigantopithecus a giant prehistoric Orangutan

This starter is pretty clearly an elephant, specifically an African Bush Elephant ("BUSH" Elephant) but it's also supposed to embody the endangered Long Tusk Elephant due to being poached for Ivory, and of course the Mammoth.

The Prior evolutions could also represent the extinct Scillian Pygmy Elephant

The obvious Type I could go with is probably Grass/Rock or Grass/Ground cause Elephants are Large, Sturdy, and tend to cover themselves with mud or dust to cool off, but I was thinking of going with Grass/Psychic because Elephants are very intelligent, emotional, and empathic animals who are able to communicate over long distances or predict future events by picking up on low frequency noises making them very intune with the earth.
There was an event in India where an elephant ran off with a tour group inland and not long after a tsunami hit, and an Elephant in Korea learned how to speak a few words in Korean cause he was lonely and wanted to communicate better with his human handlers. Also it makes this pokemon 4x weak to Bug which could play off of the whole Elephants being scared of mice myth, it's ironic that something so huge would be weak to something tiny.
