Edit: Slightly edited her nose.Something I just needed to get out of my system, and that I'm glad that I drew. My newest vampire; Miranda, inspired by lovely winter darkness and falling snow up here, as well as listening to the beautiful song My skin by Natalie Merchant.
Snow have a tendency to make me sad, but in a good way, believe it or not. I think a lot, and is often lured away by inspiring thoughts.
A while ago, I imagined this scene where the young Miranda just found out about the death of her maker and ex-lover; LΓ©on, and how she finds herself alone in the world. She decides to seek the only thread left of this blood that runs in her veins, searching for the last one of her LΓ©on's bloodline, in other words, Nicolai (he deserves some good company, believe me). But that's a whole other story! :3
Spent a few hours on this, in between looking after my rats (giving them tea and talking to them etc.)
Hopefully I'll be back on track with the things I HAVE to do tomorrow!

For the hair, I first put on some base colours, marked out some basic shadows and highlights, then drew every strand individually ^^

Sands above, everything about this image is gorgeous. I honestly did not want to comment because I wanted to just keep staring at it. Still do. Let's start with the lighting. Lighting in the snow has always made me think wonderful, inspirational thoughts, and I love that you captured that yellow flare, the fluctuations on her hair--which, by the way, flows beautifully. Her face, her slightly off to the side expression, perfectly catch the mood, and--along the lines of the lighting--I love the shadows around her eyes. I adore how the color of her scarf picks up the color of her lips--and while we're at it, I overall adore that scarf. The folds and shading, and mostly the tiny flowers that pick up magnificent sparkles of the light. Did I mention her expression is perfect? It's so peacefully melancholic. And the texture of that coat is lovely as well; so is the blur of the snow. Added to that is a title that completes and enhances the atmosphere.
Overall, this is magnificent, and I love it intensely. <3
