This is what I did with my day. ....I... I mean this drawing... not sleeping. I would LOVE if it was sleeping.It's pretty inevitable. After I've drawn enough pictures of a fandom, eventually I'll draw characters sleeping. And it's usually while I'm having a few days of insomnia or if I'm really tired. Right on both accounts here!
Billy is a pain to shade I've come to realise. In the show, the characters all have a basic shader on them... except for Billy. Billy also doesn't leave any shadows or reflectivity from his glow on anything around him. (seeing as he's technically invisible I guess it makes sense) but it can be tricky to get him properly integrated into a picture.
The ACDC logo was obviously not drawn by me. The guitar pattern is actually a brush found here on dA (it's easily to find. I'm too lazy to go hunting through my favourites for it)
Hopefully I can get some proper sleep tonight. If I don't stay up late watching cartoons.
As always, I need to work on my shading ;___; but I've been saying that for years. *sigh* I like it though. I just wish I had better skill at it.

Billy tends to forget he's a ghost. But even if he was more aware I think it's too big of a habit for him to break. (he also eats although I don't remember him ever saying he's actually hungry. He just eats when he feels like it, it seems.)

The show actually never addresses this, but there's a large number of fan theories. The most common one being that Billy ODed. There is no evidence seeing as... you know.. kids' show. But considering he's a rockstar who very definitely lived a rockstar lifestyle (trashing hotel rooms, sleeping around, partying hard, throwing tantrums on movie and music video shoots) and considering he died young it's not that hard to imagine something like that happening. Billy is a bit of a fuck up as well, and gets both himself and Spencer into a lot of trouble sometimes.
A less common theory is a car crash although I doubt this since Billy had "people" to drive him around (although he does suck at driving).

I kind of gused car crash.Β dont matter who is driving, car crashes still happen. and can kill anyone in the car.Β actualy car crashes are a very popular way to kill a character that is not a warrior of some kind.

The show actually starts en medias res, so we never find out how Billy died, when Spencer's family moved into his mansion, and how Spencer actually met Billy.
I am guessing they wanted to either save these for a second season, or simply weren't going to address it at all since the show itself is extremely silly and has absolutely 0 serious moments in it at all.
What I do like is how the show never has any blatant serious moments at all, and yet we learn tiny little details that COULD make for drama if the show allowed itself to wallow in this sorts of things. But the show is meant to be fun, and so it never turns proper focus on these things.
Mostly it deals with Billy struggling with the fact that no-one but Spencer and his friends can see him when he use to be an insanely popular rockstar with a ridiculous number of awards. Or it deals with Billy's ghost-ness causing problems (either created by Billy himself or indirectly caused just from him being a ghost)
There is an occasional villain although she never gets proper development, but she's actually VERY creepy if you stop to think about it for even a second. She's a very rich rabid fan of Billy who has sent a henchman to capture Billy. She wants to do this because she wants to keep him in a jar so she can keep him all to herself. (The only room we see in her house is covered with posters and guitars and other memorabilia belonging to Billy.)
Some people theorise she actually killed Billy in some kind of weird stalker situation but I don't think this really works. Billy, although a ghost, does not strike me as someone who was murdered as he is never shown as bitter, angry, or vengeful about his... uhm... ghostiness.

Spencer's family got the mansion in the inheritance (Spence's mom is a distant cousin of Billy's and apparently there were no other immediate relatives). It's never shown in the show, but I'm guessing Billy was just so happy to actually have other people around (even if they can't see him) he didn't chase them out. Or if he tried he probably was pretty ineffective at it. Billy is not exactly scary.
I doubt Billy has any idea HOW it happened. He hardly seems aware that he's technically dead. He mostly talks about "getting ghostified" and whenever Spencer makes a passing reference to him being dead Billy's response is usually "I dunno what you're getting at." At which Spencer drops the subject. I think Billy KNOWS he's dead... he's just never really stopped to think it through. And I highly doubt he remembers the details. Also, Billy is scared of ghosts. Which doesn't help the whole "think this through" thing.

Unfortunately whenever Billy DOES end up scaring people, they either blame Spencer for it. And when they DO start suspecting something supernatural might be to blame, it's usually when they DON'T want people to know.

XD It's something you see a lot in fine art. There are SO many really high art paintings that end with " ... in repose" Like "Nude in repose" or "Lover in Repose" or "Artists in Repose"
Basically it's just an outdated and now considered "classy" or "artsy" way of saying "at rest" or, more specifically "lying down".
Basically I'm just being silly with the title XDDD Because I have a weird sense of humour.
