Description Classics Never Die: Saying Goodbye to an Era

NASA may not be putting man into space anymore, or it may just be a big conspiracy. But it doesn't change anything, "The truth is out there."

Rendering this image was a pain in my backside. I can't count the hours the half naked men in my machine slaved away at trying to get it right, each time coming closer. Twice finishing only to find that I was unhappy with how the material looked in the end one time, and another time to find I had some how deleted an important texture. I finally decreased the final output, and will decide in the next couple days if I want to go large to submit as a print. Is anyone vaguely interested? I can also do a back shot if anyone is interested.

Simply amazing! I love the texture... I've been trying to get somewhat like this and I haven't been able to. I don't know if it were very hard for you. However, congratulations for a fantastic work!

This looks like a photograph of a toy. You're great with materials. Now make a red version with fussy dice and fire and fins and long tripod landing gear and park it on the moon with the hatch open and have a shiny metal ladder looping off the side and an astronaut outside who is removing the USA flag because it's the last trip there..

My aren't we a little demanding! lol Actually this might or might not have future plans. I do have a red version of it animated, but it's crap. And I've got other projects screaming my name, so they are taking priority. This was just one that popped up out of the blue, sort of based on a partial project that in the works. So you may see it, or part of it again... or something that looks like it again.

Don't worry, I haven't. Although I don't know that it's going to be posted on DA. It's another start and stop rendering project. It's the same UFO, but in an animation. I had worked on animating it and given up, and then decided to give it one more go... and I think this may be it. Though now that I'm happy with it, I've come up with a much more complex addition. Think I may just leave it alone.

Thanks, I had a lot of fun working on it. Well until it came down to getting the render the way I want it. I sometimes want things just right and they don't always turn out the way I see them in my head. This came pretty close though.
