Description

In 1919 the Poles captured about 4 Gotha bombers and were able to launch one of them. The plane ( no G.IV nr 213/17 later changed into 100/17) did not have a bombardier's sight. A Schwarzlose MG
was also installed, but only for the rear gunner. Gotha took part in the bombardment of the Bolsheviks troops during the Battle of Warsaw in 1920 but suffered a landing accident and was not
repaired.

Very few photos which left showing that engines covers have been removed and they were flying without them.

Gotha aircraft were produced by Gotha's native company, LVG and Siemens-Schuckert Werke. "Polish" Gotha came from the latter manufacturer.
