I think the main reason Tywin hated, or rather continued to hate Tyrion was because they are so alike. Tyrion was, in his eyes, himself in a funhouse mirror and his pride couldn't stand that. He didn't want to see himself with the drunkness, lechery and japes that he tried so hard to avoid, that he detested his own father for. And that is why long after the death of Joanna he continued to hate him, using her death and his stature as a dwarf to justify said hatred

Curses! I may have to buy all of those books for ref. A chum has lent me the Longbowman book but I need more, MOAR! I'm hopeless at armour and I need ref - loads of it, and clothing ref too.
I can recommend this book [link] for having lots of colour photograph ref, I got it in Amazon marketplace for 90p recently. (Score!)
Anyway, getting away from book love, Tywin and Tyrion! What a contrast heh heh! Grud it must irk Tyrion always having to crick his neck up to talk to people, and always having his dad sneer down his nose at him.

No, I haven't finished all. I'm reading A Clash of Kings now, and I arrived at Theon seizing Winterfell.
