Description Species: Rangifer tarandus
Origin: Sweden

Info: My personal treasure I found in Sweden this year It was found in the same area as the reindeer skull . We found quite a few bones there. All of them were dragged around by other animals (wolves? wolverines? bobcats? foxes? bears? We'll never know) and some also show signs of teeth. This one is very old and must have been there for quite a while. The bone structure almost feels like wood. I love it

Cool find! But I really think that it's a reindeer/caribou, because of the forward protrusion. Moose antlers would be more out to the side and less vertical than that part, and are more or less symmetrical which caribou antlers aren't. They also don't fork at the base like that, unless they're young with tiny antlers.

It is a reindeer, yes.
I compared it a while and when I look at it now I can't get why I was so stupid to think it is a moose
Even with that size it is still waaaay to small.

Wow! I love the weathered texture! It would look amazing as part of some taxidermy base, maybe with a bird or animal perched on the horizontal part of the antler

I have a skull like this (his name is Kevin), and I've always thought it was some other kind of deer not an elk/moose? It's "horn attachment" looks different though... Maybe you could help me out in finding out what it is?

It's awesome finding things like this in the forest though! But I have to throw away a bunch of huge bones (about twice the size of my feet, and I have a pair of 39 ) due my parents finding them disgusting ._.

Indeed!

I am actually not sure anymore if it is really moose or just a monster reindeer.
What really irritates me is the size and the weight.
