# About me
I enjoy a wide variety of art. I'm usually working on about a million different things at once even if I don't post about them regularly~
○ I love taxidermy and have a license to practice it in my country, even for most (locally) protected species.
○ I collect skulls, bones, pelts and other natural history goodies. My ideal home would be inside a natural history museum so I try make my surroundings as eclectic and fantastic as possible <3
○ I try my hardest to obtain specimens ethically but of course ethics varies from person to person. I will try list where I got each specimen in my deviations but majority of my pieces come from pest control, roadkill, natural death and second hand sources.
○ I'm currently working as a 3D artist, one day I might even get paid for it! ;)
○ I have a degree in genetics and cellular biology. If you need to make bacteria glow in the dark, I'm your gal!
○ I'm hoping to expand my artistic skills into all sorts of new taxidermy-esque areas like making replicas, tutorials and videos!

I found a small mouse in the woods but there are already ants and it has a hole in its skin. Can I try to use it? I never did taxidermy before.

I find that mice are quite tricky, they rots fast and the fur falls out so you want them to be very fresh. I recommend you try a frozen feeder mouse from the petshop, they sell them for snakes and reptiles to eat and they're very cheap and if you mess one up you can always buy another
If you are interested in the bones for that mouse you found you can put the it under a flowerpot with a heavy rock ontop and hope the ants clean it well. I recommend a damp place for it so it doesn't dry out so a clump of wet moss in there or putting it under grass clippings work nicely (If it dries out there will be jerky-like flesh stuck to it that the ants won't eat)

I found a hooded crow on the way it looked "Fresh"><
But I had groceries with me and it was in the city, also I don´t really have the tools and knowledge for taxidermy/I am grossed easily. I took a photo. I wished I could take it, but probably there will be maggots tomorrow and that grosses me><
I will move to a rural place and there I can look much better for carcasses.
Do you know forums/tutorial sites?
Well, enough text.

I actually get grossed out pretty easily too if you can believe it! I carry plastic bags so I can pick up dead animals the same way you pick up dog poop so I don't have to touch them at all
For skinning I use two pairs of gloves. The inside gloves are plastic waterproof kind to stop blood touching me, and the outer layer are cut proof gloves so if a knife slips I don't get hurt. I always shower after doing anything gross to make myself feel 100% clean too.
Try joining some groups on facebook to do with 'vulture culture', skull collecting or taxidermy and you'll soon absorb a lot of information reading the posts there. You can also note me if you need specific help

That sound lovely! Today was my birthday dinner as we were waiting for family to arrive. My mum made a really delicious cheesecake, my favourite I just uploaded a picture of one of the presents I received, I think it'll come in really useful for taxidermy!
