Mate I'm using this awersome piece as background in a youtube channel that I have for a podcast in Spanish. I put a link there, to provide recognition where due.

What is negative space ?

The areas that don't have anything in them.

Oh... For me black is somethong (dark sky...).

I'd rotate it a bit. The colors are to die for!

Hmm, I'll consider that next time, straight up symmetry can be a bit dull.

I agree. There are times when you want to do symmetry, but I prefer an asymmetrical image.

I think it looks great.

I like the negative spacing, but that's just my opinion. It seems to add a lot of interest for me if the focal point is not always taking up the entire surface of the work.

I LOVE it!

how'd you do it?

sorry I'm just curious...

I used the eTech script, then I tiled it, finally I applied a bipolar final transform.

Aradacian In reply to CabinTom [2008-02-29 05:41:47 +0000 UTC]

damn!!

I can't get the eTech script to work

and how do you 'tile' things?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

CabinTom In reply to Aradacian [2008-02-29 13:57:54 +0000 UTC]

Create 4 linear transforms, then move them 1 unit away (this can be adjusted) from the center in each direction. You can play with it more from there to get different effects.

but how do I get the eTech script to work?

You need to have the "edisc" plugin.

ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

where do I get it?

CabinTom In reply to Aradacian [2008-03-02 03:50:39 +0000 UTC]

There's a link in my journal to the plugins.

the opposite, like the negative space gives the pic a cleaner look, very nice!

I'm not complaining about the negative space either. It sets the lighted areas apart. If everything has bright colors, there isn't anything to focus on.

Well, I am guilty of too much negative a lot of times. I would have advised rotating it 90ยง

"A mathematical point with no physical dimensions."
There's a certain irony in that, it being a fractal work!

Looks like someone was playing with two artificial quantum singularities in an attempt to form a gravity well (worm hole) ...
Or it could be a giant space amoeba undergoing mitosis ...

See what happens when you watch Star Trek?
