I know very, very little about Marvel comics other than Spider-Man, so I have no real opinion on Jane Foster as Thor, and I believe that's a good thing. I'll decide if I like her or not after I've seen the movie. There are lots of things that can and most likely will affect the result - the plot, the way the character is written, the actress's performance etc. I'm proud to say that I'm one of those people who (usually) don't give a shit about the "Internet drama" concerning the people behind the movies/shows I like. The only thing that really matters is whether or not I like the thing I'm paying for. (And if I'm not paying for something, it's still the most important thing.)

That's a good way to go into it. If you are interested, her time as Thor has ended, so it's actually a pretty finite run. Long, but easy to actually finish.

I have to admit im very sceptical about the Jane foster thor entering the MCU, as the little ive seen of her in comics has not pertucerly interested me though that may be more to do with thor stuff than her replacement of thor.
though I confess I never being the bigest fan of thor outside the old earths mightiest heros cartoon and the MCU. other wise thor and his world and mythos is the kind of confusing stuff I tend to try to avoid. (funny story when they annoced Chris Hemsworth as thor as an Aussie I had to take a dumbel take. 'generic handsome surfer jerk one million and one form home and away you got to be kiddy my that petty boi can't play and 8th tall demi god' {keep in mind my only exposure to thor at this time was EMH} shows what I know)
but how is her gaining the power of thor going to work, no human has hosted the power of thor unlike the comics were that was a thing for a while. with donneled blake and the gut whom becomes thunder stuck
anyway in other news I finished up unstoppable wasp I am sad its over. though I have to scratch my head they wrapped everyone up save boggy man whom ecapes so neetly, all the other NPC scientists were rescued. and the people like Feness, and the other aim lacks switched sides really easly. like I get monica bugged of and left them to fend for them selves but still I would preferred if they got out and became roughes for Nidia and the girls just seems like wasted potential.
as something ive noticed that being lacking for a lot of the newer heros is viable roughs line ups. I think if marvel was to give some of these newer heros their own line up of bad guys it might help with their long jevity
also slight disappointed by the fact those two ex cons Nida and Janet hired didn't end up leading a hand. though maybe they did in an earlier issue but ive forgotten.
I had a chuckle at Robbie Ryrs cameo at the end. not sure about that girl becoming his girl friend so quickly and her bossing him around. but it was cute.

On Thor: It's definitely not for everyone, but I do kinda love Thor's weird swords-and-dragons side of Marvel. But it's very different from the movie version. Also Cap got Thor's power when he picked up the hammer, he was throwing lightning and hitting Thanos hard enough to knock him over. Hulk couldn't knock Thanos over.
The whole bad guys turning thing: I get that, but redemption has been a pretty strong part of Unstoppable Wasp since the beginning. She turns her bad guys a lot, and Finesse in particular was trained to be a hero so it was more odd that she fell in with AIM. And I kinda forgot their security guard existed, they haven't been around in a while.
Robbie and Taina was a cute little thing. I wonder if it'll continue. I may have to pick up Jason Aaron's Avengers again if she starts building stuff for them. Give Robbie a Ghost Rider buggy-mech transformer.

Thor: I have a kind of weird relationship with fantasy, i do like it. not so much in proper books (i only really have one pure fanticy series that i like, most of the others are eather modern fanticy)
But im usually quite found of it in none super hero comics, unsounded, dragon age, the witcher, Ravein or modern fantasy like lock/key, red thorn (which is really really weird), cemetery girl and whatever the hell dark crystal and labyrinth and Montsress are. And i adore the IDW ghost busters those are some of my fav books. But for some reason I’ve never (outside of ghost rider, and the scarlet witch miniseries/ her sections in some of the more modern books) taken to super hero fantasy books.
Whats weirder is despite having shelves upon shelves of science fiction books (both comic and other wise) and adoring that kind of stuff. ive never really liked or focused on being dawn to super heros which have heavy science fiction themes, like super science or space ships.
The only real expectation to this has being unstoppable wasp. And ROM and maybe super girl (though SF themes were fairly light there until she went of into space)
Its just seems that while i love super heros and fanticy and SF, i like them separately. Its weird that i don’t really have a type of super hero comics. I just like super heros.
Bad guys turning good: thats true its just while i didnt grow up with comics, there a very recent love of my (and bane to my bank account J ) i did grow up with a lot of super hero shows or just shows that kind of had rogues galleys. Like even star trek and star gate kind of has their go to villains that they used again and again. So i kind of like that kind of reliable villain stick and i think its missing from a lot of the heros that i like to fallow.
Laura more or less just rides of her dads co-tales as far as proper super villans go. She dosnt really have any ongoing bad guys other than genetic evil scientists or evil corporations.
Nadia just turned her own rouges gallery back into good guys (save for boggy man, and monica)
And it looks like they were going to give some roughes to Robbie or at least were setting it up but his solo book got cancelled again and they ret-coned what really made him special as a ghost rider. EG his connection with Eli and i thought what they did with Eil was petty special as he was both Robbies greatest ally and foe. For no really good reason other than to just have him be a part of the avangers and thats what the MCU did.
It just seems strange that they took away nearly everything remotely special about Robbie.
Any who, last time the two ex super cons were in the books was i think just before wasp had her brake down.
Ghost rider...buggy transformer.... YESSSSSSSSZSSAS that we need it. ‘avengers transform an roll out”
Ok you need to make some art of that
…...
wait i recalled something, wasn't there a really bad avangers catroon where that was bassicly the premus, were all the core avangers had giant fighting mechs. or power armour?

I'm honestly more curious about the tone than the quality. Jane/Thor did have a talking dog who yelled "Murder" a lot, but it got pretty series at times.

I also wonder just *How* the MCU will pull this off, given that Mjolnir was destroyed in Ragnarok, and the version in Endgame was returned to it's place in the timeline by Captain America.

Same. I kind of assume Jane will just gather the pieces and it'll pop together, but it'll be interesting to see how it happens.

Amazing effects, clean lines, colors, and lighting. Love it.
Doesn't hurt that this Thor is my favorite comic book super hero.

Cool dynamic angle. Hope Natalie portman goes through the workout cause I can't take her seriously with those stick arms. Gwendoline Christie looks much closer to Thor.

I wouldn't mind if Portman plays Jane Foster and Christie plays the Thor persona. Especially since Jane is fighting cancer throughout that whole plot and is very small and frail, I'll be upset if they lose that.

Yeah but the "Jane fighting cancer" part is meant to be cruel irony because she's a nurse, and they already scrapped that. Also It's probably going to be a comedy, since it's more of a Ragnarok 2, so I'm not sure if they'll go with cancer. But Guardians did so who knows. Having Portman and Gwen do a double role might be cool to see though. Especially if, like in the comic, people can't recognise her. I didn't even like the story but the art sold it to me.

The cruel irony was more connected with her complex history with gods than her being a nurse, though, and movie Jane already has that. A huge part of her story while she's Thor is her frustration with all the pain and misery the gods, people of power that she knows, allow to be in the world and her dedication to being a better god.
And apparently Waititi really likes Jane's comics, so hopefully we get a bit more of an appropriate tone for her story. No executing all the Asgardian supporting cast in passing.

Christ yeah, I came away from that movie with my friend, we both liked it, and then there was a pause and he was just like "Did all of the warrior's 3 get killing in 20 seconds?" "Where was Lady Siff? Is Valkyrie meant to be replacement Siff?" and they wrote it in a way where you can't even bring Siff back without have to spend a long time addressing where the hell she was.

Sif spent some time on Earth in Agents of Shield, I'll accept a simple "she was on a mission" for explanation. I was annoyed she didn't show up, but I loooove comics Volstagg and him just sorta getting executed the second Hela got to Asgard annoyed me.

Most likely they would change how she would get her powers to be more "family friendly." Everyone is wanting for the trailer to see what they would do. Since brand fatigue is running rampant among the fans.

There's nothing not family friendly about her origin, and the last Thor started with Hela slaughtering Asgard.

We are talking of the MCU they'll change her origins, say how progressive they are, and they wont get rid of Thor because he's liked.
