Description A scene inspired by Lloyd Alexander's Prydain chronicles. The characters are from The True Enchanter in Alexander's collection of Prydain short stories, The Foundling. Princess Angharad of the House of Llyr, and Geraint, the man that wins her heart. I included the bauble from his other series, since it is an enchanted object of Llyr, and it probably would have belonged to Angharad before Eilonwy inherited it.

Absolutely lovely piece! There is a certain magical feel about it. I like the way you incorporated the bauble into the pic, its a clever way of linking between the 'past' (Angharad) and the 'present' in the Chronicles (Eilonwy), which readers of the series would readily identify with.

You really don't get to see much fanart of of the Prydain Chronicles on the net, even on DA, and this is indeed one of the rare gems out there.

OMG! there are short stories to the chronicles of Prydain? i got the main books in a charity shop and iv seen nothing about them since - but they're so good! gurgi rocks!

That's an excellent reason to join DA, to comment. And yes, the fact that you can get stuff up that you can't put up at Elfwood (and at a faster rate) is plus.

Caelkriss, you have NO IDEA what you've done! If her ears were a bit longer/pointier and her hair a bit more red, well you would have drawn one of my Tolkien-inspired peredhel! Brilliant!

Really?! I had NO IDEA!! Well, the character is supposed to have red-gold hair. If you haven't read the Prydain chronicles, you really should find the time to do it. They're much lower level reading than Tolkien, but it doesn't sacrifice plot and characters for children. The world is wonderful too. I don't think I've talked to someone who's read it that didn't like it. The series starts with The Book of Three. Check 'em out some time!
