Thank you, Yami! It is encouraging to know that the fun I have when I'm creating an image shows through and is noticed by others. *smile* I'm glad you like "Little Thieves" (thank you for Faving it)...but sentient cockroaches? GROSS!

You understand correctly. I have a night job that pays the bills. My paying art jobs help...but aren't enough to live on. Believe me, Yami, if I could make a living with my creative skills I would do it in a heartbeat. Alas...that is not the case. I guess the secret to doing art as a Living...is to make sure you choose an "art" that is in demand. I chose gaming art...and designing children's play areas. BOTH of which are subject to the tides of popularity and economics. When the economy went sour...so did my income. It's still a struggle...but still a joy!

Yeah...*shiver* Cockroaches. The RPG story behind this piece involved some kind of human-cockroach hybrid that used chemical-signals or a form of mind-control to get normal roaches to do his bidding. Including petty theft!

want to see a 6 foot 200 pound man dance, and squeal like a girl...watch him open a box and have a few dozen cockroaches come scampering out. it wasn't me of course.
Some of the best adversaries for games, stories and art, are the ones that aren't blam, blam, blam... fight over...millions of cockroaches running around swiping purses, and stealing stuff, would be a nasty problem for any hero.π: 0 β©: 1

Swarms of thieving, mind-controlled roaches. Heh..this was a weird roleplaying story...but I think that's the whole point!

Where's a flamethrower or some thermite when you need it?

She had a mini-flamer and a small block of C4 in her purse...but it got stolen!

How did you get the textures on this one? It looks like pencil...

It is indeed pencil. As much as I enjoyed using Unishade and Duotone paper (and shading films), it all got phased out by computer technology. So I simply shifted to shading my inked pieces with pencil. In this case, the paper surface added an interesting textural look.
