Description A few months ago, *Hyperstar90 and I decided to trade some art. She drew and colored me a customized gryphon (which completely rocks the fantasy world, and I'll be putting him in my shoutboard), and asked me for something "creative" in return. I hope this fits the bill. *Nervous.*

This sculpture stands about 30 cm high, and represents how creatures of the Earth exist in certain phases of trying to exit the gravity well. One side has the natural world (people, mountains, clouds, northern lights, stars, galaxy, etc.) and the other side has the technologies we employ at corresponding levels (wheel, hot air balloon, plane, shuttle, rocket, space station, etc.). I threw in three gas giants just for fun. Sorry for the horrible pictures.

This sculpture used:
Three cardboard ornament balls
Six colors of oil paint
~45 cm of wire mesh
0.4 boxes of SuperSculpey
12 colors of acrylic paint
Elmer's Glue
Rubber Cement
Vinyl Flooring Glue

This is a great piece. This comment is actually for both slides, but since this photo has better composition...
Although the Nature v.s. Man thing isn't new or original, the way you have presented it is beautiful and unique. I will be watching for more sculptures.

*Winces.* Believe me, I know about the problematic composition, the lighting, the angles... I can't seem to turn the awareness off after spending a week at one of those Nat. Geo. photography seminars. Extenuating circumstances prevented me taking better pictures of this sculpture; thanks for bearing with them.

Thank you so much for your lovely evaluation of my work! Given the many surreal and symbolic pieces I saw in your gallery, it means a lot to me that you consider this sculpture rather a unique representation. *Sincerely honored.* I wish I could promise you more sculptures, but my near-future offerings shall only consist of dragon models; I'm sorry. I'll endeavor to try, though!

Well Dragons are cool with me

Any way, about this work, its the sculpture that matters, if in a not-so-great photo the sculpture can still catch the eye then it is a very good piece.

Thank you so much, EndlessEmeralds! The planets were a lot of fun, though difficult to attach, but the little icons just seemed to make sense.

Ha-hah-hah-hah! Now to blight my neighborhood by making a twenty-foot version of it in bronze, to adorn the cul-de-sac!

You're most welcome hun.

Yes! You must! Now that would really be something.

Thanks, one Himmapaan. You make me feel better about it.

"Enigmatic," hmm? Maybe I should have tried to actually put a message into it. Oops.

This is fantastic
I love the attention to detail, especially on the mountains and planets
Plus the concept is so original and intriguing true creative art

This has the creative juices coming out the jazoo XD

Aw, thank you! I'm so very glad you like it! The detail on the mountains was deliberate, and (though you can't see them) the cloud has a silver lining and the little yellow person has a red heart.

The planets, though... That was me taking advantage of the project to indulge in a little bit of fingerpainting. Oil paints work surprisingly well for that sort of thing.

Thank you so much! And thank you for my gryphon-- he is/will be the pride of my (growing) menagerie! He's so cool.

Definitely creative. That's really neat. ^^ I like all the shots of it.

Nifty keen! I bet she'll like it.

(I like the stars. )

*Gasps.* Someone noticed the stars! *Delighted.* I wasn't certain that they were visible in the pictures I took.

I was going to put all of the shots into one document, but LT-in-transition can't see the network, so I got lazy. There were more pictures, but I figured that three details and two fulls were enough. Although, none of them caught the rocket. I was proud of that rocket. Amendment time!

Thank you for such kind words, Liliy!

I did indeed notice them; in this picture in fact. XD They're very cute.
