I did this piece in acrylics, painting in the base colors- water and sky in heavy layers leaving a bit of texture.
The trees and spotty overlay of colors was done with lighter layers and splattering watered down colors (dark blues and rusts) over salt. I like to mix techniques and later with transparent washes to create depth.
