Because I felt like it:Dís - Daughter of Thrain, sister of Thorin, mother of Fili and Kili
… I now realise I just love love LOVE drawing dwarven hairstyles. It also strikes me as odd that this should be the first Tolkien-related fan art I've attempted since watching The Hobbit (which was so full of magnificently loveable characters), and she’s not even in the film - and her only mention in the books is her presence in the Durin Family Tree. I just adored the concepts for the Dwarf Women in the Weta Artbook and fancied a go at creating what I thought would be the mother of our two 'sexy' Dwarves
...If you squint you can see her royal sideburns and modest goatee, a la Tolkien

I like this. I can't imagine female dwarfs with full beards, but very bushy and long side burns, like you have drawn her here. I like the little goatee you also drew her with

This is gorgeous ! I love your portrayal of Dís - she has a perfectly Dwarvish body and face (sideburns, yay !) but still looks beautiful and feminine. Her hair is amazing (I just love drawing Dwarven hairstyles 
Anyway - I'm totally faving this. There isn't enough Dís fanart out there on dA - after all, she is the mother of the two most adorable Dwarves in Middle-Earth, she deserves some popularity (I'm working on a Dís artwork right now).

Oooh! I like it, this is well-imagined. She does look like Thorin's little sister, and I like both her hairdo and her beard. Also her proportions - she appears a trifle long-waisted/short-legged (as a Dwarf should!) but still looks feminine.

Thank you! It can be done. Tolkien wrote of the Dwarf women (and children!) being bearded, but it was always gonna make more sense in the more 'feminine' form of fine jawline fuzz or a little tuft on the chin
